Volunteer – Blog It On
Who: EVERYONE!
What: A day of united volunteering by bloggers everywhere
When: Saturday, May 1, 2010, anytime/all day
Where: Wherever you want
Why: I volunteer with the following 3 organizations -
1) PM PALS – Bear and I spend one Friday a month (or try our best to) hanging out with special needs children and their siblings allowing their parents to have a much-needed date night.
2) VITAS - Provides end-of-life care. Sometimes Bond even goes with me to visit folks in the nursing home!
3) HSPCA – Animals. Must I say more?
….but one small black cat who recently followed me home made me realize I haven’t spent nearly enough of my time volunteering lately.
How:
1) Display the following button on your blog and let everyone know about the event!:

My goal is to have 18 individuals volunteer alongside myself and Bear.

This is such a great idea. I have been seriously thinking of getting a volunteer job but still deciding where I want to focus my energy and time. Thanks for the motivation, I will definitly participate!

You should turn this into a once a month thing. Like, first Saturday of every month. That’d be pretty cool.

Yay! We don’t have a date scheduled for it but I think I might try to do it again in the Spring around the same time as last year.
