When two consultants live together something magical happens….

….you end up with a LOT of hotel toiletries!
Now that we are no longer living in hotels (thank goodness!), we needed to do something with the above mess.
So I bought a bunch of white boxes and cheapo ribbon from Michael’s and along with stolen paint sample cards from Home Depot…

…..I decorated the boxes into something much more presentable for our guests:

Now that we have a guest bedroom and bathroom and all.
So far this weekend has started out well – I went to an estate sale this morning and had eclairs for breakfast. Now I’m off to doggy playgroup and then getting ready for Shere Khan’s Jungle Book Birthday Party tonight!
Have a fun weekend, dolls!

Shameless plug – go vote for me here: http://www.adoredaustin.com/2010/07/vote-reader-submitted-best-aloof.html on Indiana’s Aloof Blogger Pose contest.
I used this cheesy picture:

Usually don’t submit things to giveaways like that but just thought it was too much fun not to. Voting ends tonight.
P.S. Don’t forget to enter my own giveaway for the fantasmo ring!
P.P.S. Sorry for the lack of updates…been up to my elbows in dogs. Seriously.

Hey hey! Time for another giveaway! (Don’t worry, won’t ever say that again).
Remember my post on two-finger rings that I was lusting after on Etsy? Well a couple of the ladies offered to do a giveaway!
First up is the Love Letter Two-Finger Ring from The Clasp Of Isis.
Tamara was kind enough to send me one for my own collection and I adore it!

It’s absolutely precious and incredibly well-made. The envelope opens to the cutest ‘note’ and the ring is adjustable.
The best part about this unique ring is Tamara is donating half the proceeds of each Love Letter Two-Finger Ring sold to 4262 for Kids!
Here come the rules:
1) Visit The Clasp Of Isis to see all the other beautiful items and leave a comment {1 entry}.
2) Follow me with Google Friend connect or Google Reader and leave a comment {1 entry}.
3) Tweet about the giveaway and leave a comment {1 entry}.
3) Leave a comment telling me the favorite piece of jewelry that you already own {1 entry}.
Giveaway ends July 9th at 5 pm CST. And don’t forget to leave your email address so we can contact the winner.
Good luck!

We had 5 more weddings to attend by the end of the year. Now there’s just 4 more. Even one ON New Year’s Eve!
I love weddings. Love how they bring people together, love the love, and all the shimmery magic.
Two of my highschool friends (yup, been together since 9th grade) got married this weekend and it was a crazy, fun reunion. And the bride did an amazing job with the decorations, details and theme:

< outfit worn to dinner the night before – Old Navy tank top, couple bucks; skirt found at Buffalo Exchange for $4; and necklace found at estate sale >
< Dress by BNX, bought at Second Time Around Consignment for about $40; Mia shoes at DSW for about $30; bag found at garage sale for $1 or so; indian bracelets from my mom; ring from Aldo from Bear as a present; belt bought too long ago to remember >
Love the Grecian flow of the dress, it was perfect for a summer wedding. I gave it a little extra shape with the belt but it was mostly hidden with the flows which I loved. It had a little bit of detail at the chest but I played it up with all the glittery accessories.

My favorite ring – Bear remembered I had liked it and went back for it in our early days of dating. <3
wish bowl!

bride and groom exited under a path of sparklers!

There is one boy who never ceases to amaze me…
Who sets my heart a flutter every time I get a sight of him….
that cutie patootie Michael Kors.
I carry him with me everywhere (seriously, I rarely switch out my humongo purse).
Today, while looking for a dress to wear to a wedding reception this weekend…highschool friends, must impress…..I fell into MK’s trap.
But he is always so good to me. Especially when I visit him at the outlet mall. (These were each $9.99!)

…well at least I didn’t buy more gold accessories this time. Seriously, it’s bad. I’ll have to show you pictures of that soon.
P.S. I have been craving a gold skirt since I saw Ali in one at the InStyle photo shoot. And now I have one. I rule!

For Bear’s 3rd Birthday/Father’s Day weekend we ate too much and now have a fridge full of takeout boxes.
First, the Etsy Craft party which was a ton of fun and had an endless supply of delicious food. I made Peanut Butter Cupcakes with Chocolate Ganache

but I’m mad at myself because I forgot to put in the mini peanut butter cups in the middle! Grr.
Didn’t take a lot of pictures AT the party because I was too busy making cute things. But I did get pictures of my outfit before I left:

< shoes are Baker’s but I got them at Savers for $10; dress from Old Navy; belt $2.50, thrifted; necklace from garage or estate sale; ring from F21, $4.50 >
….then a weekend full of

Fathers
homemade salsa
playing with the furbabies
and shopping for more hangers. Oops.

Can’t believe the weekend is already here again. I spent the day thrifting and got some fun finds I can’t wait to share with you all.
Tomorrow is the Etsy Craft Party and I’m super excited. I will be getting up early to bake something yummy to take….before my first day of shadowing.
Forgot to post these pictures from last weekend, which was Bear’s 2nd Birthday Weekend. I arranged for his friends to surprise him all weekend long, some all the way from Houston and Dallas. No other photos because we were drinking too heavily the rest of the weekend to take the camera down to good ole 6th.
This weekend we’ll be spending time with both sets of parents (3rd Birthday Weekend + Father’s Day!). But we’re going to dedicate Saturday morning (Bear’s ACTUAL birthday) to garage sales!

Didn’t take many pictures but hopefully you can sorta make out the awesome ruffle detail on the top I got from…wait for it…Kohl’s! For about $6 on a recent trip with my mom. Skirt is from Nordstrom Rack, $15 – fun and flower-dy bubble skirt. Shoes are from a year or so ago (Approx $30 from DSW) and I haven’t worn them nearly as much I should considering they are one of my more “expensive” pairs.
Have a great Father’s Day weekend, y’all!
